Manali Wildlife Sanctuary

Manali Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1954. This sanctuary spreads over 3,180 hectares of land. It offers a rare, accessible wilderness experience right on the edge of town. This sanctuary protects rich biodiversity that attracts trekkers, birdwatchers, and wildlife photographers. The animals in this sanctuary are Himalayan Black Bear, Flying Fox, Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Palm Civet, Serows, Indian Hare, Himalayan Yellow Throated Martens, Barking Deer, Kashmir Flying Squirrels, and Stripped Hyena. It also houses endangered animals like Brown Bears, Leopard, Musk Deer, Goral, Western Tragopan, Himalayan Monal, and Snow Leopard. This sanctuary is covered with vegetation such as deodar, walnut, poplar, fir, willow, maple, kail, horse chestnut, and robinia.
