The terrifying war memorial east of the Zenkov Cathedral, which features soldiers from all 15 Soviet countries on the USSR map, honors their memories. The Park is a verdant space that is a great spot to sit, unwind, and take in the busy city sights.
- Located in Almaty's lush Panfilov Park, the 56-meter-tall "ZenkovCathedral" is one of the city's most exquisite, spectacular, and architectural landmarks. According to folklore, this cathedral was constructed without the use of nails during the early 19th century under the supervision of A. Zenkov. But regrettably, that is untrue. Even though the design is strikingly original, it is a result of the highly developed technological know-how of the period.

A cable car journey that begins close to the Hotel Novotel and passes through some of Almaty's oldest neighborhoods and the stunning fruit-growing gardens is the best way to get to KokTobe hill. As you ascend KokTobe Hill, you will notice the well-known 372-meter-tall TV Tower, which is visible from a distance and provides stunning views of the city and mountains—several attractions at the summit, such as numerous eateries offering international cuisine.

The secret to shopping here is to have a knack for haggling because everything is very affordable. The vibrant ambiance and the wide range of products will excite you.

Rakhat, which translates to "pleasure" in Kazakh, is the oldest chocolate manufacturer, having been in business for nearly 70 years.
